Meet Lisa. Lisa has lived in Kamloops for 9 years. She owns a photography business and is also volunteers at the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
My family has lived in Kamloops since 2009. I'm a BC girl though, having grown up in Smithers :)

Determined
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
That's a tough question... I'd have to choose between Spain, Greece and Peru. Simply because I have a HUGE travel bucket list but those three are at the top!
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Enjoying the good food and great local wine with foodie friends!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
My favourite way to give back is through the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. I am a photographer and volunteer my time documenting many of their big events every year as well as working on smaller projects for the foundation. They work hard and do so much for Kamloops, and they're the best bunch of people, it's always a pleasure volunteering my services for them.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Anywhere that is away from any noise pollution where I can just be alone to re-center. In pretty much any direction you can disappear into the hills, and I absolutely love that about Kamloops.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The people, for one thing. And the location... we are literally in the middle of it all, lol.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Skydiving.
Get my scuba diving certificate.
Visit every continent. (We will work on every country after that!)

Why did you get into/start this business?
While I always seemed to be the one taking photos all the time, it didn't turn into a business until a friend stong-armed me into photographing her sister's wedding. Scariest thing ever, but after that day I was hooked & my business was born.
What is the goal of your business?
Weddings + Families: to document moments & immortalize loved ones. Beauty portraiture: to show women how dang beautiful they are!!! Commercial work: create visual branding images for businesses to help them stand out in their market. In a nutshell, lol.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Work-Life balance. Always working on improving that.

Honestly? Follow your heart when it comes to your dreams. Dare to dream big, and to live life intentionally towards making the dreams your reality. xo
