In September, Canada's Vimy Foundation launched the "Great World in Colour" a travelling exhibit of 150 images taken during the First World War between 1914 and 1918.
The exhibit features colourized WW I photos in addition to historical information and educational resources.
The First World War is considered to be the first major conflict in which large number of soldiers made use of a camera.

This year marks the 100th anniversaries of the battles of Vimy Ridge and Passchendaele, in the First World War, and the 75th anniversary of the Second World War’s Dieppe Raid.
Some 3,598 Canadians were killed at Vimy Ridge, more than 4,000 Canadians were killed at Passchendaele, and over 900 were killed in Dieppe.
