1. Nebraska approves TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline
After years of regulatory reviews, TransCanada now has the approvals it needs to build the Keystone XL pipeline after Nebraska voted to approve the project on Monday. The panel approved the controversial $10-billion project with a three to two vote. The pipeline would transport about 830,000 barrels of oil a day from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska.

2. Obama wishes Joe Biden happy birthday in meme form
Barack Obama and Joe Biden were the subject of many memes during their time in office and on Monday the former president used one of them to wish his right hand man a happy birthday. The Obama-Biden bromance was on full display and the internet loved it as the meme has racked up 1.5 million likes.

3. Massive waves are hindering the search for a missing Argentinian submarine
It’s been nearly a week since the ARA San Juan went missing off the coast of Patagonia with 44 crew members on board. An international team of searchers continues to hunt for the missing submarine, but inclement weather is producing massive waves in the area, which is hindering the search.

4. Victoria’s Secret model handles runway fall like a champ
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show took place in Singapore over the weekend and it was extra memorable for one model. Ming Xi took a tumble while walking the runway,but she wasn’t going the let that ruin her moment. With the help of Gizele Oliveira, the Chinese model got back to her feet and finished off her walk as the crowd cheered her on.

5. Dozens dead after a suicide bombing at a Nigerian mosque
Tragedy struck at a mosque in the northeastern Nigerian town of Mubi on Tuesday. A teenage suicide bomber entered and mosque and detonated himself, killing at least 50 people, according to BBC. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but it’s believed to be the work of Islamist militants Boko Haram.
