With Easter around the corner, the premier of Western Australia has taken the time to film a quick little video, ensuring kids that they’ll still get to celebrate with chocolate this year.
Mark McGowan filmed the public service announcement after receiving a letter from Taylah, a nine-year-old girl, who lives in Thornlie.
“Will the Easter Bunny be able to come to Western Australia this year,” Taylah asked. “I heard that no one can come into Australia because of COVID-19."
To put Taylah and all the other children in Western Australia’s minds at ease, McGowan said he was signing a special “eggs-emption,” that would allow the Easter Bunny to visit next weekend.
“This means the Eastern Bunny can still come to (Western Australia) and visit all our families and friends next weekend, because we all know just how important that is,” said McGowan in the video.
“So thank you Taylah for taking the time to write to me, because I like Easter and Easter egg hunts too. Happy Easter from me. And as always, make sure you listen to your parents and don’t eat too much chocolate.”
It couldn’t have taken McGowan more than a few minutes to put together and film the special video and it surely put a lot of young children’s minds at ease with the popular holiday on the horizon.
