In case you missed it, due to the fact you were living under a rock, Canadian legends The Tragically Hip hit the stage Saturday night in Kingston for a national broadcast of their final tour.

Front man Gord Downie, 52, is losing a battle against cancer and the band set out on their Man Machine Peom Tour in Victoria on July 22.
Since then, they’ve visited Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa before finishing in their hometown of Kingston.
With a sold out concert and live streams around the country (and world), in everything from living rooms to auditoriums, it’s tough to tell exactly how many people tuned in to the concert.
One thing is for certain, there were many.
According to Google Trends, the most searched topic was Tragically Hip (there were over a million searches in on Friday alone, with the most searches at 7 p.m. Saturday night). There were plenty of searches for the band's songs, lyrics, Gord Downie, his prognosis, his family, age and more.
For part of the concert, Downie was wearing a Jaws t-shirt, so naturally, searches for Jaws are up 450 per cent in Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a coveted spot in the audience, Downie mentioned him during the concert a couple times and the two even shared a hug. During the concert, and following, searches for JT rose over 2,500 per cent.

Everything Downie touches turns to gold.
No one wanted to miss out on the historic night either.
Searches for “what time is the tragically hip concert tonight” were up nearly 2,000 per cent, with “how to watch tragically hip” not far behind.
With all that attention, the band did not disappoint, they are also trending on Twitter, with stars and fans reaching out to say thanks.
On behalf of Canadians, I thank Gord Downie and the Hip for their decades of service to Canadian music. Forever in our hearts and playlists.
