NASA to launch 'SpaceX' into orbit this afternoon

For the first time in nine years, NASA plans to send astronauts back into space.

NASA SpaceX, the first commercially built and operated American rocket, is set to launch at 12:22 PM PST. Astronauts Robert Behnken and Doulas Hurley will be the two in control as they embark on a journey to the International Space Station.

Taking off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Floria, the "SpaceX Crew Dragon" is set to dock at the space station at 7:29 am PST on Sunday.

Originally, the spacecraft was set to launch on Wednesday, but unfavourable weather caused delays. At this point, NASA has said there is a 50/50 chance weather could stall lift-off again.

Once in the air, Crew Dragon phase burn will commence at 1:09 pm, Far-field manual flight test will go at 1:55 pm, and Astronaut downlink will take place at 2:55 pm.
