NDP leader Jagmeet Singh is used to asking and answering tough questions, but nothing like the one he popped on Tuesday night.
The 39-year-old, who became the leader of Canada’s NDP party in October, had a very important question for his girlfriend Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu, a well known fashion designer.
That important question was whether Sidhu wanted to spend the rest of her life with Singh as husband and wife.
Obviously, Sidhu said yes, as Singh posted a pair of photos to his social media accounts with the simple caption, “she said yes.”

According to the Canadian Press, the proposal took place at the vegetarian restaurant where the two had their first date.
Singh set the scene nicely on Tuesday with flowers, petals and candles.
The NDP leader looked great for the special moment, as he typically does for most occasions, but it was his bride-to-be that stole the show.
The pictures show a glowing Sidhu, looking absolutely beautiful in all black as she accepts the ring from Singh.
