UPDATE: 6-year-old found, Amber Alert cancelled

(UPDATE: 6:45 a.m.) - An Amber Alert for six-year-old Emma O'Keeffe has been cancelled and RCMP say the girl is being provided with medical care.

She was found around 6:45 a.m. CST (5:45 a.m. PST) and the police providing the update about 30 minutes later.

According to RCMP, O'Keeffe was found within the City of North Battleford, although there has been no update or word on whether the suspect who stole the family's SUV was arrested in the process.

NowMedia will update this story if more information is made available.

(Original story: 6:15 a.m.) - It’s every parents worst nightmare and it’s one that the parents of Emma O’Keeffe are living right now.

O’Keeffe was in the back of her family’s SUV when it was stolen from outside a strip mall in North Battleford, prompting an amber alert to be issued by the RCMP.

The six year old has autism, is non-verbal and needs medication for severe epilepsy, making her hopeful return even more urgent.

Police say that she needs that medication every 12 hours and that missing a dose could lead to “extreme medical distress or possibly death.”

She also needs help eating and has a stomach tube to take in fluids and medication.

"We just want her home so please bring her back or just call someone and let her know where she is," the girl’s mother said through tears in a video posted to the RCMP’s Facebook page Monday morning.

The vehicle in question was stolen around 5 p.m. on Sunday, when O’Keeffe’s mother left is running and went into a store.

It’s a dark grey 2010 Mercedes Benz GL350 Bluetec SUV with Saskatchewan license plate 897 HMX, and the suspect is believed to still be driving it.

The car also has a keyless entry system and once the suspect shuts off the engine, it can’t be started again.

"We know you didn’t try to abduct her," said the girl’s father. "We know. We know. We just need her back."

O’Keeffe has brown, jaw-length hair and was last seen wearing a navy-blue, long-sleeve t-shirt, black jeans, pink socks, no shoes and a diaper.

Police are asking the suspect who stole the vehicle to drop the young girl off at a hospital so she can get treatment.
