On Friday morning, the Prime Minister of France, Bernard Cazeneuve addressed the public about yesterday's attack in Paris.
"Yesterday evening, France was hit again," said Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve in a statement to the public.
The Prime Minister called yesterday's shooting of a police officer on the Champs Elysees a cowardly assassination.
The shooting left one police officer dead and two others seriously injured.
This shooting occurs days before France's presidential election, which runs from April 23rd to May 7th.
The Prime Minister used the shooting and his platform to call attention to take a jab at how the other candidates, Marine Le Pen and Francois Fillon, from different parties were speaking about the shooting. He suggested the other candidates were looking to create division rather than build a strong nation.
The Prime Minister's speech comes after yesterday's shooting in Paris.
