Police in Iowa have released footage of a terrifying close call after a truck lost control on an icy road.
The dashcam footage was recorded by a delivery truck that had come off the I-80 freeway near Council Bluffs last week.
While a state trooper talks with the driver of the vehicle, a pickup can be seen in the distance apparently trying to overtake a large truck.
But the pickup skids off the road and comes hurtling towards the parked truck and state trooper.
They only just escaped what could have been a tragic incident.
Police said nobody was seriously injured.
They added: “If you have to be out driving during inclement weather, please remember to slow down and be aware of the road conditions.”
