More of Big White is open and it’s just in time for the weekend.
Both the Powder 2.0 Quad Chair and the Alpine T-Bar start spinning today, bringing the total number of lifts open to 11.
Those lifts are currently serving 64 runs, up from the 53 that were open on the mountain yesterday.
Big White got 3 centimetres of new snow in the last 24 hours, but the alpine snow base stayed put at 101 cm.
To start the day, it’s -4°C at the hill with unlimited visibility, overcast skies and moderate winds.
The official ribbon cutting for the Powder 2.0 Quad Chair is this morning at 9 a.m. and the first 50 people to ride it will receive one-of-a-kind celebratory pins.
You can also try a brand new run starting today, called The General, which is located on the lift line of the old Powder Chair.
It’s a black diamond run, similar to Flagpole, that’s steep and narrow with beautiful glades on either side.
Conditions are always changing on the mountain, so be sure to check the Big White website for the most up to date snow report.
