With 420 having already happened on Thursday, the latest Canadian food recall may be too late.
Miss Vickie’s Canada is recalling their Jalapeño Kettle Cooked Potato Chips from the marketplace due to a possible Salmonella contamination.
The recall includes any 40, 66 and 220 gram bags with a guaranteed fresh date of June 20th or earlier.
While the recall was triggered by the company, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.
If you have already consumed this product and you think it’s making you sick, contact your doctor right away.
Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
“Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” says the Health Canada website. “Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.”
Short-term symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps or diarrhea.
Long-term complications could include severe arthritis.
So far there have been no reported illnesses in connection to this recall.
