Police say multiple shooters were involved in an incident in downtown Seattle on Wednesday night. According to witnesses, the shooting that killed one person and injured several others started as some sort of argument. Police are still looking for the gunmen and it’s believed they’re after a pair of suspects.

One of Canada’s most popular news shows is undergoing a format change. The National will no longer be hosted by four people and will now be a two-person gig between Andrew Chang and Adrienne Arsenault. Ian Hanomansing will anchor on Friday and Sunday, while Rosemary Barton is now CBC’s chief political correspondent.

On Wednesday, Mark Davis announced that the Raiders NFL franchise had officially changed its name from the Oakland Raiders to the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s the end of an era in northern California, but a fresh start for a struggling franchise. The Raiders will hope to emulate the success that the Vegas Golden Knights have had in Sin City.

Michelle Carter was released from jail today. The Massachusetts woman served just under a year of her involuntary manslaughter sentence after being found guilty of persuading her boyfriend, Conrad Roy, to kill himself. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Carter has been a model inmate during her time behind bars.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has moved the doomsday clock slightly closer to midnight. The clock is a metaphor for humankind’s proximity to global catastrophe and it’s now set at 100 seconds to midnight. It’s been at two minutes to midnight since 2018. Just 40 years ago, in 1980, it was all the way back at seven minutes to midnight.
