1. Disaster in Mexico City as train plunges through subway

At least 23 people have been killed in Mexico City after an overpass collapsed as a train was travelling over it. Children are among the dead, the city's mayor said.

2. Bill and Melinda Gates calling it quits

Hyper-wealthy couple Bill and Melinda Gates are divorcing after 27 years of marriage. They said they "no longer believe we can grow together as a couple," without explaining what that means.

3. Canadian town's sign war goes global

A sign war between businesses in the town of Listowel, Ontario is being discussed around the world. It all began when Speedy Glass and Dairy Queen began teasing one another, but has since grown to include an array of competitors, including even a funeral home (which warned rivals that they were making a "grave mistake" by fighting a sign war against the business).

4. Woman, 39, killed by bear in Colorado

A woman has been killed by a bear in Colorado, officials in the state said. The 39-year-old was walking her two dogs in the north of Durango on Friday when she was attacked. The bear and its two cubs have been euthanized.

5. Farmer accidentally moves Belgium-France border

A farmer has provoked laughs after accidentally rearranging the border between France and Belgium. The Belgian farmer moved an old stone marker 2.29 metres inside of France so he could drive his tractor through a patch of land. As a consequence, he temporarily increased the size of Belgium at the expense of France.
