Environment Canada (EC) has issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5).
The agency says that a frontal system will bring 15 centimetres of “heavy snow” to the major route starting this evening.
The winter weather will ease off early Saturday morning.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” the warning reads. “Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.”
EC added that visibility could be “suddenly reduced at times” in the heavy snow.
Drivers are urged to stay up to date on the latest highway conditions and closures by checking DriveBC.
