COVID-19 case confirmed at Subway in Cache Creek

Interior Health has identified a case of COVID-19 at a Subway in the BC Interior.

The restaurant involved is located at 1209 Hwy 97 in Cache Creek and anyone who visited the sandwich shop on March 25, 26 or 27 is at risk of exposure.

The Subway location is attached to the Cache Creek Inn.

If you fit that criteria, you’re asked to self-isolate and monitor symptoms until at least April 10.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include a fever, couch, shortness of breath or other difficulties breathing.

It can also include milder symptoms like a runny nose, fatigue, body aches, diarrhea, a headache, sore throat, vomiting and red eyes.

“As long as customers remain healthy and do not develop symptoms, they can return to their routine activities 14 days after the date of their visit,” said Interior Health’s alert.

“If customers develop respiratory symptoms, they need to self-isolate at home for a minimum of 10 days from the time their symptoms develop and until symptoms resolve.”

Testing isn’t required for those who have mild respiratory symptoms, but if those symptoms worsen you should call 811 or your healthcare provider.

More information on COVID-19 is available on the Interior Health website.
