(Original Story: Mar. 19 @ 4 pm) – Police in the Interior are investigating following another suspected homicide in this area of the western Interior.

According to RCMP, on the evening of March 15, officers were called to a "man down" in the 600 block of Main Street. Both Statlimx Tribal Police and Lillooet RCMP were on scene.

The groups found a man suffering from serious injuries already being treated by the BC Ambulance Service.

After being quickly transported to the hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries. The victim's next of kin has been notified, though his name is not being released at this time.

"So far this investigation leads us to believe this was an isolated incident with no elevated risk to the public," said Cst. Andrew Hodges. "The RCMP would like to extend their thoughts to the victim’s family, and friends."

The file is now being investigated by the "E" Division Major Crime Unit. They are in the area still to gather further evidence.

This is the second suspected homicide to occur in the area in the span of a month. The first occurred on Feb. 19 in Lytton.
