(Original Story: July 3 @ 1:13 pm) – Another long weekend has come to an end and everyone is headed home from their weekend getaways.

As expected, there is some traffic congestion on the Coquihalla Sunday afternoon.

Looking at the BC Highway Cameras, traffic has become fairly congested about 36 kilometres south of Merritt at Larson Hill.

Southbound traffic, headed towards Vancouver, is fairly backed up as of 1 pm on Sunday.

The congestion is most likely because of the construction zones in the area, as DriveBC has not reported any accidents.

Northbound traffic heading into Merritt also looks to be fairly congested.

The rest of Hwy 5 does appear clear. This includes Britton Creek, the Summit and near the Zopkios rest area.

As for Highway 3, there are no signs of congestion or accidents Sunday afternoon.

Drivers should prepare for some delays and drive accordingly.

There has been no information provided yet about how long the delays may take. So, be sure to visit DriveBC for the most up-to-date details.
