One man is in custody again after a mini crime spree in Salmon Arm.
Just one day after being released to appear in court for property crime offences, the 25-year-old allegedly stole a purse from Shuswap Lakes General Hospital.
The police were called and the man fled the hospital on foot towards McGuire Lake.
There, he assaulted a female taxi driver and attempted to steal her vehicle, but police got to the area quickly and were able to arrest him.
He won’t be released this time around, as a judge has ordered for him to remain in custody while awaiting trial.
The local investigation is continuing and further charges may be recommended, but for now he’s facing charges of robbery, theft, fraud and obstruction of a police officer.
