The US Drug Enforcement Association (DEA) has released an updated 2018 list of slang terms for drugs and there’s some question as to how well informed the list is.
For example: If you think switching the word cannabis for the name “BC Bud” will trick the feds, think again.
The popular strain of B.C. bred cannabis is listed as one of the over two hundred different “slang terms” cited by the DEA.

Yellow Submarine and other popular names for cannabis like Animal Cookies, Big Pillows, Churro, Droski and Girl Scout Cookies are all listed and memorized by DEA agents so they can catch onto the youth’s drug code words.
According to the DEA, the list “is designed as a ready reference for law enforcement personnel who are confronted with hundreds of slang terms and code words used to identify a wide variety of controlled substances, designer drugs, synthetic compounds, measurements, locations, weapons, and other miscellaneous terms relevant to the drug trade.”
Other interesting and slightly hilarious names for cannabis include:
There's also some interesting terms for other drugs such as LSD and cocaine.
