There was plenty of disappointment to go around when the outdoor showing of Coco was postponed on Monday night.
Lingering smoke in the Okanagan, which has resulted in a number of special air quality statements from Environment Canada, made it a health risk to have people outdoors for that long.
The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs (OBGC) promised a rescheduled date, however, and it didn’t take them long to deliver.
Families will now be able to gather to watch the movie outdoors on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Kelowna’s City Park North Fields.
Admission is by donation, as the event is a fundraiser for the OBGC, with a recommended amount of $10 per family.
“We hope families will join us for an evening full of fun activities and the movie COCO under the stars,” says a release from the OBGC. “Bring your family and friends, a blanket or lawn chair and make yourself comfortable.”
Gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie will begin playing at dusk, but families can also enjoy inflatables, face painting and other fun family activities on site.
There will also be a concession, of course, as it wouldn’t be a true movie experience without one!
