On the heels of the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen + Adam Lambert (QAL) has announced a 2019 tour.
That tour will begin on Wednesday, July 10 in beautiful British Columbia with a show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The Rhapsody Tour will stop at 23 arenas and stadiums across North America over six weeks, capping off in Charlotte, NC on Friday, Aug. 23.
Vancouver is one of just two Canadian stops on the tour, as QAL will also play Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, July 28.
The band is promising “a brand new larger-than-life production” next summer, one that Queen fans won’t want to miss.
“We have been designing a brand new visual spectacle that will reframe these iconic songs and we are excited to unveil it,” said Adam Lambert, while Roger Taylor added they they “are ready for America and raring to get back in the saddle.”
Brian May and Taylor first performed with Lambert in 2009, when Lambert was a contestant, and the trio has been touring the world as QAL since 2012.
Over 180 shows later, the partnership has proven to be a commercial and critical triumph, as Lambert’s vocal prowess and stage presence seem to be the perfect fit.
Joining the threesome on tour this time around is Spike Edney (keyboards), Neil Fairclough (bass) and Tyler Warren (percussion).
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. local time, while Queen and Adam Lambert fan club members will have access to presale tickets a day earlier.
