11 Kamloops organizations awarded the 2025 Social and Community Development Grants

Eleven local organizations have been named the 2025 recipients of the city’s Social and Community Development Grants.

The grants, which total just over $127,500, are meant to fund special projects, operation costs and/or capital costs for not-for-profit organizations in Kamloops.

The City of Kamloops opened application submissions in October and received 22 submissions.

Eligible projects need to address priorities identified in the Kamloops Social Plan and/or align with some of the priorities outlined in the Council Strategic Plan, the city explained.

Applications may be submitted for operational costs, special projects, special capital expenditures, or one-year seed money for a social enterprise initiative.

Below is a list of the recipients:

• BIG Little Science Centre Society - $6,000

• Interior Women's Centre Society - $15,000

• Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society - $30,000

• Kamloops Adult Learners Society - $5,000

• Kamloops Arts Council - $15,000

• Kamloops Food Policy Council - $6,500

• Kamloops Happy Choristers Senior Choir - $3,000

• Lii Michif Otipemisiwak Family and Community Services - $15,000

• Mount Paul Community Food Centre - $12,073

• People in Motion - $15,000

• Spinal Cord Injury BC - $5,000
