Men's Supportive Housing Centre Opens in Logan Lake

The federal and provincial governments along with various community partner groups have officially opened a supportive housing facility for men approximately 40 minutes outside of Kamloops in the Logan Lake area.

VQ - The Lake is a facility that has 50 beds for men living with mental health and addiction related life challenges. The facility provides residents with a life skills recovery program.

This project is located at 7185 Tunkwa Lake Road and includes classrooms, workshop space, recreational hall, dining area, and private rooms for residents.

"We take in people from all walks of life and with different backgrounds. They participate in a comprehensive program based on the Twelve Steps in addition to extensive and thorough programs developed by VisionQuest," said VisionQuest Recovery Society Board Chair Earl Moulton.

Moulton confirmed that VisionQuest is the organization that operates this facility and suggested that this development fits well with their holistic approach to recovery.

The BC Minister Responsible for Housing Rich Coleman said, “VisionQuest Recovery Society helps people involved in the provincial corrections system, and there is no other society or service in B.C. whose specific focus is on these individuals."

VisionQuest Recovery Society is an organization that has been committed to seeing men heal following a struggle with addiction.
