Culture Days is a national initiative that promotes free arts and culture activities. This year, the three day event had approximately 8,000 activities nationwide.
Culture Days Ambassador for Kamloops Daniela O’Fee says the events were a resounding success.
“A lot of the event organizers have reported back to me that their attendance from previous years had more than doubled, in particular, the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra dress rehearsal,” said O’Fee.
As ambassador, O’Fee has been working hard to promote Culture Days within the community as well as being the voice for the event and blogging. Every year a new ambassador is chosen and O’Fee hopes community organizations will continue to offer free events during Culture Days.
“I would hope that after the spark that happened this weekend, I would hope that the major organizations will continue to offer free events,” said O’Fee.
Culture Days is an annual event that takes place every September.
