Kamloops RCMP Traffic Officers conducted Road Safety Blitzes from Monday through Thursday last week and recorded 452 speeding violations.
On Friday and Starday night, the RCMP Traffic Section utilized the Alexa Bus and focused their attention on impaired drivers.
Below is the breakdown by offense for last week.
- Speeding violations - 452
- Speeding warnings - 24
- Excessive speeding with the vehicle being impounded - 4
- Assorted traffic violations - 48
- Assorted traffic warnings - 42
- No insurance - 3
- Drug seizures - 5
- Prohibition Notices served - 3
- 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) - 8
- 3 day 3-dayiate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) - 2
According to Corporal Jodi Shelkie, the Kamloops RCMP will be conducting more Road Safety Blitzes in the near future.
“The Kamloops RCMP has an ongoing commitment to traffic safety,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie “they will be conducting more Road Safety Blitzes throughout the spring and summer.
