According to a close friend of the family, the phone was confirmed to be found this afternoon.
(Original Story: 11:00 am) - Friends and family of a woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle on McGill Road on Friday are looking for a lost cell phone.
According to Michel Letour, a close friend to the victim's significant other, the woman's phone is not in possession of police or the family and may have been taken from the scene. The phone in question is a Samsung model.
"Would appreciate whoever took the cell phone of the woman hit at McGill and University Friday night to turn it in, no questions asked," wrote Letour.
The family is searching for the phone as it could have information and personal photos of all that happened on the woman's final days.
"I’m sure you can appreciate that the deceased woman’s information, personal photos of the last days of her life are contained in her phone and her family would dearly appreciate its return."
Anyone who finds or found the phone is asked to bring it to the Kamloops RCMP detachment or the main office at TRU.
After speaking with the police, they confirmed they had a bag of the victim's belongings, though they could not confirm if the phone had been found.
