Meet Dre Vivian, the 19-year-old powerhouse behind Loud Content, a Kamloops-based business that's turning up the volume on the local music scene. Born and raised right here in Kamloops, Dre has been passionate about community, creativity, and connection from an early age—and now, they’re channeling that energy into making live music more accessible and celebrated in our city.
Dre founded Loud Content in 2022 and began concert promotion in 2023 with one big goal in mind: to give everyone—from teens to seniors—a chance to experience live music again, and to ensure local bands actually get paid for their work. Their mission is bold, clear, and necessary.
“My proudest accomplishment so far?” Dre shares, “Getting a few people into the local scene. That’s where it starts.”
When they’re not busy organizing shows or spotlighting local talent, Dre’s favourite way to spend time is with their dogs—“easily the coolest folks I ever met.” They're also a huge fan of local shop Haus of Misfit, calling owner Jess “Kamloops’ own Vivienne Westwood” for keeping “K-Town loopy” in the best way possible.
Dre’s love for Kamloops runs deep, but they’re also pushing for change. “I’d like to see more people who live in Kamloops—or even just travel through—recognize how many people are working day and night to play live music for them,” they say. “I often hear complaints about the scene, and yet I don’t see folks showing up to support these amazingly talented local bands and artists.”
When asked where they’d go if they could be anywhere in the world, Dre’s answer? “A punk show in Japan—they know how to rock.” Enough said.
At the heart of it all, Dre believes in shopping local, lifting each other up, and showing up—for your neighbours, your friends, and your local bands. “Who knows when you’ll start a business and need customers or just people to rely on,” they say.
They’d also like to give a well-deserved shoutout to Ryan from Kamloops “for promoting so much positivity,” and to the local band Creature, who’s been “absolutely killing it at the last few shows.”
Dre’s pick for the next KamloopsBCNow In Focus spotlight? YKA Loopser, for bringing back Kami the Fish and spreading smiles through community swag. “Truly an amazing thing to see.”
And Dre leaves us with this mic-drop message:
