The Kamloops Blazers were in action this weekend taking on two formidable foes in Everett and the Kelowna Rockets.
On Friday, Kamloops came to play, trying to end an 11-game losing streak against the Silvertips. They would do just that as the team won by a score of 3-1.
In that game, Everett started out hot as Brendan Lee scored the only goal of the first period. From there on out, Inaki Baragano, Quinn Schmiemann, and Connor Zary all scored to help the Blazers to the win. Dylan Garand was named the first star of the game after stopping 33 of 34 shots.

Garand was back in net for Saturday's game against the Kelowna Rockets. He stopped 26 of 28 shots to lead Kamloops to their eighth straight win over Kelowna.
During the game, the teams traded the first four goals with Martin Lang and Zary scoring for the Blazers. Orrin Centazzo would add one in the third and Max Martin would add a pair to help the Blazers to the win.
With the couple of wins, Kamloops moves to 5-4, good enough for third place in the BC Division.
Up next, the Blazers take on the Swift Current Broncos at home this evening. Puck drop is at 7 pm in the Sandman Centre.
