Kamloops Fire Rescue has responded to 5 car crashes since last night

Kamloops Fire Rescue was kept busy last night, partly because of some interesting weather.

According to platoon captain Mike Haines, KFR has responded to five motor vehicle incidents since last night.

"Well, since 7 o'clock last night, we've only been to five," said Haines. "Two this morning, we had two this morning but there were no injuries."

Haines adds that a majority of the incidents weren't serious, though one sent a man to the hospital.

"We had a significant one on the Peterson Creek Bridge where somebody ran into the rear of a semi-truck. We had to extricate the driver of the vehicle and he was transported to hospital."

"No idea what his condition his... That was the only one of the five accidents that had any injuries."

Haines couldn't confirm if the weather has played a factor in the crashes, but it seems likely.

"It's hard to say, you know, I'm not really sure about, as far as the accident investigation, I don't know what the serious one last night was, but I'm sure the change in weather played a part in it. Visibility or the roads, who knows."
