One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after reportedly being shot early Friday morning.
“While we are continuing our investigation, based on evidence gathered at this time, this incident does not appear to be random,” said Cpl. Dana Napier.
Around 2 am on Jan. 24, multiple frontline officers and police dog services responded to a report of a man who had been shot in the 900 block of 13th Street.
Upon arrival, police found the victim and they were taken to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
Police believe that several people were involved in the incident and the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit, General Investigation Support team and the Kamloops RCMP Forensic Identification Section are part of the investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage is asked to contact the RCMP and reference file number 2025-2175.
