(Update - 9:15 am): Friends, family, and former sports teams have confirmed the identity of a Savona man killed in a car crash early Sunday morning.
Support came in from everywhere on social media for 22-year-old Morgan Munden after his vehicle veered off the road and rolled several times.
The Kamloops Broncos were one of many offering their condolences. Munden played with the Broncos during the 2017 football season.
"The Kamloops Broncos are extremely saddened to hear that Broncos alumnus Morgan Munden has passed away in a tragic car accident," wrote the team in a statement. "Morgan was a member of our team in the 2017 season. Our condolences go out to Morgan's family and friends."
(Original - September 9th): It was a hard night for Kamloops RCMP as they were dealing with a fatality on Sunday.
According to police, at 2 am, officers attended a single motor vehicle crash on the Savona Access Road in Savona. The vehicle had veered off the road, rolling several times in the process.
"The cause of the crash is unknown at this time as there were no witnesses," said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
Unfortunately, the driver and lone occupant in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased man was from Savona in his 20s.
