Kamloops issued drug checking alert after officials find 2 samples of crystal meth laced with fentanyl

Interior Health has issued a drug testing alert for residents who use in Kamloops.

According to the alert, two samples sold on Wednesday as crystal meth tested positive for fentanyl. The samples showed white crystals with purple flecks.

For your safety, avoid using different drugs at the same time or stop using altogether. Residents should never use alone or lock the door.

Telling someone to check on you, testing using a small amount, and carrying a Naloxone kit can save your life. Naloxone kits and drug training are available at Ask Wellness located at 433 Tranqulle Road or at Interior Health at 235 Lansdowne Street.

If you suspect someone is overdosing, call 9-1-1 immediately and give naloxone if you can.
