Six members of the Kamloops Long Blades Speed Skating Club competed at the Alberta Long Track competition this past weekend at the Calgary Olympic Oval, and a few of them took home a medal.
Caleb Van der Merwe won a silver medal in the Junior 2 male division, Keidis Corrigan won a bronze medal in the 12-year-old male division and Kayleigh Roberts earned a silver medal in the 11-year-old female division.
Jacob Beesley finished in ninth, and Jared Roberts placed 10th in the 13-year-old male division. Meena Litt finished in fourth place in the 13-year-old female division.
The Kamloops Long Blades speed skaters will be competing at the Prince George Long Track meet on Jan. 14, as well as the BC Long Track Championships Jan. 21-22 in Fort St. John.
