"The Repair Café 'fixers' enjoy sharing their skills and almost always have the know-how to advise, assist and teach you how to carry out the repair," wrote a release. "Since last year’s inaugural Repair Café over 150 items have been saved from the landfill. Repairing objects minimizes waste because it restores functionality to items that would otherwise be thrown away and replaced."
