Elizabeth Czajkowski seems to know exactly what she wants after a life-changing lottery win earlier this month.
First up for the Kamloops resident after winning $1-million from the Lotto 6/49 draw on Nov. 1 is a new vehicle, which she’ll use to explore her beautiful home province.
More specifically, Czajkowski plans on road tripping to explore some of British Columbia’s many great hot springs.
Looking a little more long term, she wants to do some travelling outside of Canada as well and has identified Scotland and Mexico as two of her top destinations.
Czajkowski was working from home when she decided to check her lottery ticket online and discovered her $1-million windfall.
“I didn’t understand,” she recalled of the moment she saw the amount. “I thought there were too many zeros!”
She first told her boss, who reacted with laughter and excitement, before telling her kids and a close friend, who were in just as much disbelief as she was.
Her sister and parents joined her for a pizza dinner to celebrate the win, which Czajkowski says is still a “surreal” feeling.
Along with a new vehicle and plenty of travel plans, the Kamloops woman is looking to set aside some of her winnings for retirement.
