Man arrested following gas station robbery

The Kamloops RCMP have arrested one male following a Saturday night robbery.

According to police, the lone male suspect had produced a knife at the Husky Gas Station on West Columbia Street, stealing cigarettes and cash.

Upon reports, officers quickly flooded the area and before long spotted a male matching the description of the suspect within the Grandview Terrance vicinity.

When approached by Mounties the male attempted to flee before being subsequently arrested and searched. Within his backpack, officers were able to find a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect, who is known to police, will be appearing before the Courts today.
