Man dead after accident at shooting range

A Vancouver man has succumbed to his injuries after accidentally shooting himself at Kamloops Target Sports Shooting Complex on Sunday, June 11th.

RCMP were called to the range at 1 p.m. A man who had been participating in a pistol competition had lost control of his firearm and accidentally fired a shot into his torso.

RCMP said witnesses administered first aid immediately and the victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital by B.C. Ambulance, but he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

The 50-year-old victim was from Vancouver.
