UPDATE: Mounties locate missing 65-year-old Williams Lake man

(UPDATE: Dec. 14 @ 8:30 am) – A missing 65-year-old man from the Williams Lake area has been located safely.

The RCMP confirmed that Douglas Schnieder was reported missing on Dec. 12.

Fortunately, he has been located and the RCMP thanked the public for their assistance.

NowMedia staff have removed the man's picture to respect his privacy.


(Original Story: Dec. 13 @ 4:26 pm) – The Williams Lake RCMP are requesting the public help in locating 65-year-old Douglas Joseph Schneider.

Police say he has not been seen or heard from since early morning on Dec. 12, 2022.

He may be driving a blue 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with a license plate PX4384.

“Police, family and friends are concerned for his well-being and hope that someone may have seen him, or know where he may be,” explained the RCMP in a news release.

Schneider is described as:

  • Caucasian male

  • 5’4

  • 160 lbs

  • Short brown grey hair
