On December 9th at approximately 8:32 p.m., members of the Kamloops Municipal Traffic services were conducting a Counter Attack roadblock on Seymour St. West when officers noticed a vehicle turning around in the entrance to BC Lotteries.
The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed going the wrong way on the one-way street and eventually coming to a dead end. Two males then fled from the car.
Several officers set up containment in the area and with the assistance of a passing motorist, Kamloops Police Dog Services was able to track one of the suspects and he was taken into custody a short distance away.
The male remains in custody on an outstanding warrant for his arrest and police will be recommending several new charges related to this event.
Police are still searching for the second suspect who is described as wearing blue pants, a grey hoodie with a black jacket, possibly wearing a black ball cap and carrying a black backpack.
Officers located a loaded 44 revolver handgun as well as a knife in the front of the car. The investigation is ongoing.
