Kamloops RCMP is looking for a man who allegedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl in front of David Thompson Elementary School.
The incident happened between 2:30 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. on Monday, the girl was waiting in front of the school when the suspect approached her and said he was there to pick her up.
The young girl challenged him by asking what her mom’s name was, which the male was unable to provide.
The male then said he worked with her dad and had been asked to pick her up, but was unable to provide the girl’s dad’s name either.
Following that, the male walked away without ever touching or making attempts to grab the student.
He walked to an older dark burgundy Chevrolet truck with two doors and extra seats in the back.
The truck had a matching coloured canopy with some scratches and rust on it, but no license plate was able to be obtained before he left.
The suspect is described as a clean shaven Caucasian male in his mid-20s with lip and eyebrow piercings.
He was wearing tighter blue jeans that rode low on his waist, a chain on those pants, a dark shirt and a red flat-brimmed hat.
Anyone who may recognize the man, might have witnessed the incident or could have video surveillance from the area is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
