(Update - 1:45 pm): Canadian Pacific Railway has confirmed that a person was struck by a train this morning.
"At approximately 6:30 am PT, a CP freight train struck an individual on the tracks near Highland Drive and Highway 1," wrote CP Spokesperson Salem Woodrow.
CP Police and Kamloops RCMP are still investigating.

The body was found on the train tracks in Valleyview this morning.
