The Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating a wanted man believed to be in the area.

On Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP said James Andrew Wessel, 25, is wanted on an unendorsed warrant.

The warrant is related to offences including forcible confinement, uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, assault by choking and failure to comply with release conditions in Kamloops.

He is also wanted for one assault out of Burnaby.

Police said their efforts to locate Wessel have been unsuccessful.

A news release said Wessel is not originally from Kamloops and may have left the area.

He is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 5’9” and weighing 180 lbs.

“We are asking for James Wessel to please attend his nearest police station to turn himself in, or for anyone who has information that may help locate him to please contact police as soon as possible,” the RCMP said.

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment can be reached at 250-828-3000.
