Two exciting annual events are set to return to Kamloops in a little over two weeks.
From Aug. 9-11, Ribfest will be taking over Riverside Park.
Six different teams will be serving up barbeque and will be competing for best ribs, best sauce and people’s choice awards.
There will also be a family-fun zone, bouncy castles, face painting, live entertainment, a 50/50 raffle with proceeds supporting the Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak’s various initiatives
The festival will be happening from 11 am to 10 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, the 30th annual Hot Nite in the City will be happening from Aug. 9-10.
The event will be taking over Victoria Street and will feature live music and vendors among an array of custom, sport, vintage, collector, and electric vehicles.
Registration for the annual poker run starts at 2 pm on Aug. 9 at the Plaza Hotel. The power run will start at 3 pm and will take roughly two and a half hours.
Later that evening, at 7 pm, the fun really kicks off with drag races, a truck light show and the car light shows at 9:30 pm.
The big day, which will see six city blocks closed down for the massive show and shine, begins at 9 am and will continue on until 5 pm.
