Christmas is only a few weeks away, and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by welcoming back an annual tradition to Kamloops.
The Santa Parade is set to make its way back into the city’s downtown core after a two year hiatus this Sunday, and attendees can expect to see larger than life floats driving down Victoria St.
This year’s theme is “Luminous Loops” and parade participants have been encouraged to get creative with lights to dazzle spectators.
On top of the amazing light show, the big man in red, Santa Claus will be rolling up on his sleigh to make a guest appearance.
“This is a significant year for us. We are excited to bring back the magic of Christmas for children of all ages,” said Executive Director Carl DeSantis.
“When dusk settles on the downtown, Victoria Street will come alive and ignite with illuminated floats, bands, and other performers. We expect the parade to be well attended, with people gathering to see the floats from 2nd Avenue along Victoria Street to 6th Avenue.”
Attendees are encouraged to wear masks, and stand within a family group and maintain social distancing.
