(UPDATE: Feb. 10 @ 12:25 pm) - The execution of a search warrant that prompted a significant police presence on the North Shore on Friday yielded notable results.
The RCMP says one person was arrested and "several guns and drugs" were seized from the home in the 1700 block of Brunner Avenue.
A handgun and three rifles were seized, while the drugs confiscated included varying amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamines.
Although the search yielded drugs and weapons, police say the warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into an arson.
Supt. Jeff Pelleyy called the successful operation part of continuous work to "target those involved in drug trafficking and violent crime in our community."
The Kamloops RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and General Investigation Team were supported by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team for Friday's search.
"(The) CRU's dedication to targeting those involved in the drug trade continues to take dangerous drugs and guns off our streets," added Sgt. Jason Pole.
The suspect who was arrested has since been released while the investigation is ongoing.
