The Brave event is coming to Kamloops this Friday.
On May 12, teen girls ages 12 to 18 will attend the catalytic movement put on by Brave Canada and the Salvation Army.
“One of the things I love about Brave is seeing the girls excited about getting treated special, the speakers’ messages, and the candy bar and swag,” said captain Kelly Fifield.
“They have fun and learn they are valuable.”
Dr. Janet Munn, an author, speaker and previous director of the International Social Justice commission will be the keynote speaker.
She will discuss equality for girls worldwide and share inspiring stories of hope and triumph over pain and suffering.
The purpose of the Brave event, which will run from 3:30 to 8:45 pm, is to educate and empower teen girls.
In addition to entertainment and guest speakers, attendees will be treated to pampering, activities, a delicious meal and merchandise to bring home.
The speakers are women who have walked through adversity and can demonstrate that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
