It’s been a few weeks since Uber finally launched in Kamloops and now the company’s food delivery service has arrived as well.
Uber Eats announced today that it’s now available in six more British Columbian cities, which includes the River City.
“These days, supporting your favourite restaurants isn’t always easy,” said Lola Kassim, general manager of Uber Eats Canada.
“We are committed to working with the city’s restaurant scene to bring you the best Kamloops has to offer at the touch of a button.”
The app is launching with more than 30 local spots to choose from and will surely expand that selection over the coming weeks and months.
For now, options like Hoja Mongolian Grill Restaurant, McCracken Station Pub, Papa John's and Carlos O'Bryan's Neighbourhood Pub are all available through Uber Eats.
"We have all suffered through this pandemic and Uber Eats provides all of us another avenue to reach customers and let them know we are still here and available," said Chris Pooli, operations manager at Carlos O'Bryan's.
"The extra revenue gained with Uber Eats will be very helpful in an industry that is really struggling to stay afloat right now."
Kamloops residents can sign up for Uber Eats through the app and there’s even a promo code (2021EATS) for $30 off the first order.

“Delivery platforms can offer a new revenue stream for local restaurants, providing access to a network of delivery people and an audience of new customers,” explains a press release.
“With Uber Eats, restaurants can choose between flexible options like 0% pick-up, 7.5% for online ordering and 15% for restaurants who use their own delivery staff in addition to our full-service option.”
The rapidly-expanding Uber Eats is now available in more than 120 Canadian cities.
