A Williams Lake school is in temporary lockdown after a "very argumentative and aggressive" mother was observed on the school grounds.
Willaims Lake RCMP responded to the incident at Neskia Elementary School on Tuesday morning.
According to school staff, the mother came into the school looking to see her children. Due to family custody issues, staff did not allow any contact which resulted in the woman getting angry. The woman then became very argumentative and aggressive as she began to yell at staff and students.
"Frontline Officers arrived quickly and they were advised by staff that the female had left the building in a vehicle," said Cst. Joel Kooger. "Shortly after officers located the female and instructed her not to return to the school and advised her of alternate ways to have court paperwork served."
Williams Lake RCMP doesn't believe the woman is a further risk to the students at this time. The school remains open, though the exterior doors are still locked.
Anyone with information on the event or with questions is asked to contact Williams Lake RCMP at (250)392-6211.
