A Kelowna couple is requesting any information about the owner of a reportedly aggressive dog on Lakeshore Road.
According to Megan Sterling, her French bulldog Jukka was aggressively attacked while she and her husband were out walking on Monday.
The couple is now dealing with a large vet bill and warning other dog owners in the region to exercise caution.
"This lady ... lost grip of her huge dog's leash about 30 feet away – a big white Maremma or Pyrenees came lunging and aggressively running towards us. First at me, and then the dogs.
"I had to pull the dog off Jukka's neck ... he came out in rough shape, had to go to the vet immediately."
The incident has been reported to Regional District of the Central Okanagan Dog Control where an investigation into the offending dog’s owner has been opened.
“An appropriate course of action will be decided under the dog ownership bylaw, but it’s still too early in this investigation to state what that will look like,” explained Cory Griffith, with the RDCO.
“We are asking the public's help in identifying the owners, if you were a witness or have further information please contact the RDCO dog control service at 250-469-6284.”
